The Fifth of November
A physical work of art based on a narrative poem
This project for my Design II class at Flagler College was a collaborative piece with a poetry class. The poem I had to work from was a work that talked about Guy Fawkes and the events surrounding his death. My idea surrounds the burning of the rebel. His death helped define the nation of England and the United Kingdom, and every year after there has been a burning on the fifth of November to remember. The history of the UK has been forever scarred or burned with the memory of the treasonous plot that was almost successful.
Materials: Wood, fire, and wood glue. 30" x 15"
